The Lamborghini Gallardo was unveiled at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show. It was designed by Luc Donckerwolke, head of Lamborghini Design. The car is named after a famous breed of fighting bull. The Spanish word gallardo translates into "gallant," and from Italian into "striking". The car was an immediate success.
 
The coupe model of the Gallardo, especially with the 6-speed manual transmission such as this car, is the most prized among Lamborghini enthusiasts for its pure sporting form.
